Marital abuse is intended to reduce the morale of the one being abused. Psychological warfare is intended to reduce the opponent’s morale.
Make no mistake about it, abusive husbands see their wives as opponents. Their relationship is based on the zero-sum principle where the winner gains at the expense of the loser while the net value of the relationship remains unchanged with the abuser always in control.
Marital abuse can be physically violent as well. But whatever form the abuse takes, psychological warfare is always involved.
